First two are releases for the very popular Dungeon Saga and first is…
Mantic will be bringing back the crazy box for Black Friday and this time it will be more crazy. The box will only cost you £25/$34.99 and comes in two flavors, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but in each box will be more then £50/$70 worth of items.
To add to the great deal you are getting this year, 50% of the box’s will have an extra insane values item, such as the dungeon saga adventure facebook, limited edition resin miniatures, a faint dragon and more!
Mantic’s crazy box 2016 will go on sale on Black Friday, along with a host of other great deals through out the day and special timed deals every hour starting at 10am GMT.
Next Friday (November 25th) promises to be something rather special, as Mantic gear up for the biggest and best Black Friday Sale in Mantic history! The warehouse team is already stocking up on extra coffee to ensure they’ve got the energy required to pack all the orders!
Saturday November 5th saw Mantic in force in Bethnal Green, as Zak and his team of rowdy Pathfinders descended upon the East London Wargames club (and Working Mens Club…) to show off some of the funky new Star Saga toys, play games, engage in tournaments and revel in the brand spanking new Walking Dead game!
So Dungeon Saga by Mantic Games has been out a while and even though I have the game and all the add ons etc, I have yet to write about it.
Over a thousand years ago, Valandor, the greatest known hero fell in battle, fighting to protect the lives of those around him. From shore to shore, all owe thanks to his wondrous legacy. Now, sacred sites across the land have been defiled and plundered by the disgraced wizard Mortibris, who along with his vile undead minions will stop at nothing to obtain the secrets of Valandor’s power. Only the bravest heroes dare oppose him. Thrown together from the far corners of the realm, they step boldly into the depths, ready to face whatever foul evil awaits them…
Hero, your quest begins here!
Now this is looking very exciting!
Bethnal Green’s own HATE wargames club (HATE of course standing for the Hackney Area Tabletop Enthusiasts) in alliance with Mantic games will be hosting their very own HATECONZOM on the 5th of November – Dreadball and Kings of War tournaments, Dungeon Saga and Deadzone demonstration games, and a chance to try out Mantics brand new Walking Dead game!
Finally I have managed to scavenge a few hours to myself and some brushes.
Over the last few months there have been loads of posts and such on social media sites about Mantic and there customer services slipping in quality.
So with this in mind I got in touch with Mr Ronnie Renton to ask him what had been going on.
Hi Ronnie it seems recently that customer care has slipped slightly. Now you have already gone on record with a public apology, but what’s happened, has there been a huge quality control problem at the manufacturers or is it simply the volume of units being sold has gone beserk?
We have had a couple of problems on the delivery side as well as a few issues with the manufacturer. With the random nature of each order it wasn’t one obvious problem that we could plan or prepare for, rather we would get about 80% of each project but the following 20% would be late, which messed things up.
Secondly the problem with Deadzone was that it was massive 5000 backers, but each order was totally different which amounted to over 6000 individual mail orders in effect, add some set up errors we made and the software not really built for the size of the Deadzone project and 3 shipments for each order and that turned into a huge challenge to get finished. We have learnt a lot since then and so are looking at both Kings of War and Dungeon Sage earlier.
There will be some errors, but I expect these to be a fraction of the previous number of errors.
What is Mantic doing to miniamise such errors in future projects.
An easier base pledge, with less choice. These are bigger bundles that are all the same, like quest packs, not lots of individual figures. We are also implementing better checking and line set up at the begining will all help.
Also we are looking at a ticketing solution so we can get on top off any problem quicker if anything does go wrong.
Cheers for your time Ronnie and I can confirm my missing parts all turned up the day after this chat, so it seems that they are catching up with the problem.
Hopefully with these problems being brought under control we will see a much smoother release for Dungeon Saga and Kings of War this year.
The real test will be over easter as Dreadball Extreme gets released.
