Advanced Songs of Blades and Heroes – Review

When Darren asked me if I wanted to do a review of Advanced Songs of Blades and Heroes it was a bit of a giver that I was going to say Yes.  I have already done a review of Songs and even a small piece on how I developed my Campaign setting so it’s not like I don’t know how the game system works.

Forgotten Pacts

I can’t beleive its been nearly a year since the Lich Lord Nickstarter, and now coming soon we will see another Nickstarter Campaign, this one for the forgotten pacts

In this supplement for Frostgrave, players lead their warbands into the northern reaches of the city, exploring the ruined temples of the Frozen City to search for the lost secrets of evocation – the art of summoning demons. While the lure of such knowledge is great, few wizards have ventured into this region as it is overrun by barbaric northern tribesmen who have descended from the hills in their own search for treasure. Marking themselves with demonic sigils, many of these barbarians have aligned with ancient powers discovered amongst the temples. Along with a host of new scenarios focusing on the exploration of the temples, the book also contains new treasures, spells, soldiers, and creatures that can be found amongst the ruins.

Spartan Games – Fleet Action

I was just saying the other day that Spartan games are busy and then lo and behold they bang out another article

This time its them adding the Orbats (Fleet lists), for the minor nations.  So that’s .Chinese Federation, Ottoman Empire, Kingdom of Denmark, League of Italian States, Scandinavian Teutonic Order , Indian Raj, Royal Australia, Free Australia, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Dominion of Canada, East India Merchant Company, Black Wolf Company and Honourable Eclipse Company.  These along with the originals already listed for the Major Powers means you can play full games of Fleet Action with all the forces.

dwbb02-2

If you’ve not tried Fleet Action you should really give it a go, its designed for bigger games of Dystopian Wars.  Now it does remove a few of the mechanics so that the games play quicker, it doesn’t remove the fun you’ll have playing it.  It could even lead people to play bigger games.

Frostgrave: The Rules

Fantasy war games in the frozen city of Felstad.

Long ago the great city of Felstad sat upon the center of a great magic empire, one cataclysmic night something went wrong, and as usual when things go wrong they go really wrong, a magic too powerful to contain was unleashed on the land and Felstad was engulfed by a blizzard.

Time has passed the fell storm has now passed and the city of Felstad or Frostgrave as it is now known is ripe for the plunder for the brave souls who dare to enter, though many never are seen off again.
