Organising a Guild Ball tournament

At the moment I am organising and getting ready to run the Athena Spring Open ’17 so I thought I would do a piece about running a tournament, over the last four I have learnt quite a lot, both on the playing side and on the organising side of tournaments.

Kings of War Tournament Warm Up

So with 52 days to go until the Clash of Kings Tournament in March I thought it might actually be a good time to get my head in gear in try playing a game of Kings of War, what did this game throw up, well firstly I am woefully unused to playing Kings of War and secondly I need a lot more practice with my chosen army and possibly a few more revisions to my list.

Well with half of my army blu-tacked on to the respective bases I think it already looks pretty respectable force, and I am suprised by how cool the force looks.

Clash Of Kings- Organised play Supplement for Kings of War

Mantic now have on pre order a new supplement for Kings of War. The newest book will help you in setting up any Organised play games for Kings of War. This will be a must for any club members looking to run events with in their club, and I have mine on pre order. Mantic hope to have these to you by the 24th of Feb.

Deadzone Tournament 5th Feb @ Ivory Goat Games, Ipswich, Suffolk. “Feed The Goat!”

At last, the details have been sorted, prizes found and we are going to run our first Deadzone tournament in my home town of Ipswich. The Rules pack is below but to highlight the details in brief it will be 150 points, three games, £6 for a ticket, spot prizes in each round and we will need help with scenery and boards as this is only a start up tournament.

So if you saw this post  you will know I am in the middle of a harebrained ideal of actually playing competitively in 2017 (2018 will depend on how I do in ’17). So the second tournament I will be attending is Aftermath’s Clash of Kings.

Well yesterday I may have done something slightly crazy, in fact it was so crazy I didn’t realise just what I was letting myself in for, it takes biting off more than you can chew to a whole new level!

Revenge of the Calander

Tonight for a limited time the Tabletop Games UK Calender is back, hopefully it will be to stay but I had to remove it doue to some technical issues, what they were I’m not sure and how I fixed them I am even less sure!

Some Stats For you

Last weekend I ran my third Sanctioned Guild Ball Tournament, The Summer Open at Athena Games and I thought I would share a few stats with you.

Spoony playing Engineers scored no goals in the tournament.

Grant playing Fishermen scored no Take Outs

Ben with a Union Team and Spooney with his Engineers were the most Brutal Players with 14 Take Outs Each

Highest Scorer of the day was Lee Parry with 9 goals.

$ rounds played and 101 Goals scored and a body count of 144.

Spring Open

OK so now it is T-2 days to Athena Games Spring Open Guild Ball Event, I am taking my trusty Union to the fray, Prize support has turned up, the event has been sanction, what could possibly go wrong.
